New day

The dawn is silent.
While we are sleeping,
the sun is waking.
I contemplate the silence for a moment,
and celebrate in my heart the coming of a new day.
I pray for peace for all that are suffering,
and the continuation of happiness for those not.
This moment is right now,
and each second propels us
into the future.
My heart rejoices for this day.
The simple pleasures that await.

a meal,
my family.
